| According to a new survey conducted by a job board called WorkingMums.co.uk, most working mothers are frustrated at the lack of flexible working.
16% of the mothers interviewed said that their request for flexible working was denied by their current employer. 73% said that because their was a lack of flexible working jobs available it was preventing them from returning to work, while a massive 86% of mothers would like to work more flexible hours so they can balance their time between their children and work.
WorkingMums.co.uk found that only 31% of mothers were granted the flexibility they requested with 26% having to settle for a compromise.
Gillian Nissim who is the founder of workingMums.co.uk, said "Working mothers have a wealth of experience gleaned from their other full-time job: being a mother. They tend to have excellent management skills, are good at prioritising , are able to balance a huge amount of different tasks and are great at inter-personal skills such as negotiation and patience".
